Pōneke by Mojo
Poneke is located on Wellington’s wonderful waterfront at the Newly refurbished Clyde Quay wharf, which once was home to Wellington’s ferry terminal. The Poneke name reflects the original partnership that saw the area develop; while locals may recognise it as the Maori word for Wellington, its origins are a transliteration of words; Wellington Harbour was originally named Port Nicholson in 1826, early sailors and settlers shortened this to Port Nick, and in turn, to the local Maori the harbour became known as Poneke.
With a beautifully crafted interior designed by our friends at ALLISTORCOX, Poneke has a la carte menus designed by our head chef to feature the best of seasonal produce.
As always there are expert baristas serving either a traditional Mojo espresso or a coffee from our new soft brew machine, the Steampunk, perfect for showcasing the subtlety of single origins.
