What is Direct Trade?

Drinking coffee is all about building relationships – whether it’s catching up with an old friend, grabbing a few moments with your favourite cousin, or meeting a new client.

At Mojo, we believe in the special relationships that are made over a fantastic cup of coffee. And in order to make that perfect cup, those relationships need to extend much further back than the counter.

That is why all our coffee beans are sourced from communities we’ve seen for ourselves. We’ve talked to the growers, we know their working conditions, and we know the quality of their product because we’ve watched our growers at work.
 

ABOUT Direct trade

This is what we call our ‘direct trade coffee’. These are not one-off purchases. Our relationships with growers are built over time, and we regularly make time to visit these communities.

Creating these relationships is better for everyone. It’s better for the growers, who can establish long-term, commercial relationships and negotiate a great deal for their coffee, and help their communities grow. It’s better for us, because we know our growers well and can talk to them about what we want for our customers.

And it’s better for our customers, who can rely on us producing the best product we can.

We’re in it for the long haul - isn’t that what a relationship is all about?
